Bidemi Daniel Olumide is a Partner at Anaje Olumide Oke Akinkugbe (AO2 LAW®). At AO2 LAW®, BD (as he is popularly called) leads the tax, finance, trusts and criminal law practices of the firm. He has active experience in assisting clients in Nigeria, East and South Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America deal with their personal and business interests in different sectors of the African economy, including: agriculture, energy, aviation, entertainment, construction, fast-moving consumer goods, financing, Government, information & communication technology, medical services, non-for-profits, professional services, real estates, solid minerals, telecommunications and transportation.
With over 15 years of legal practice experience as a commercial litigator and arbitrator, Chinedu (FCIArb - United Kingdom) heads the Firm’s Litigation, Dispute Resolution and Risk Management practice group. As a seasoned litigator, he has litigated on extensive range of issues, including that pertaining, but not limited to corporate recovery, receiverships and insolvency, company and partnership disputes, energy, oil and gas, environmental matters, maritime, real estate, intellectual property, telecommunications, finance and banking, contracts, commercial law transactions, family law and general litigation both at trial and appellate levels.
Oyeyemi Oke leads the Energy & Extractives Practice Group of the firm. He is dual qualified as a lawyer and chartered accountant. He holds a master’s degree in Business Law from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Oyeyemi has over a decade of experience and has also worked in legal services division of an indigenous oil and gas company, where he advised on various energy, finance, mergers & tax. Oyeyemi has been involved in leading oil & gas deals and was a team member in the Pre-Exporting Financing arrangements involving the NNPC and its JV partners in which over US$1billion was raised.
Joseph is actively involved in the Firm’s Corporate/Commercial, Private Equity, Insolvency, Taxation, Anti-Competition Law, White-Collar Crime, and Dispute Resolution practice. He regularly advises local and international clients on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious commercial issues including complex oil and gas transactions, taxation principles, contracts negotiation and technology workings in Nigeria.
Joseph's litigation/dispute resolution is commendable as he had some landmark judgment, some of which were reported in the mainstream legal reporting media. He has negotiated numerous commercial transactions for diverse clients and advised a variety of clients on private equity in Nigeria. Joseph has successfully pursued several Receivership proceedings against some high-profile companies including against an electricity generation and distribution company...
Amaka is an ambitious and enthusiastic individual. She is a team player who provides innovative and tactical solutions to legal problems. Amaka is dedicated to improving herself and becoming expedient in the legal practice. Her interests extend but are not limited to, Real Estate & Infrastructure, Corporate & Commercial law, Energy Law, Litigation and Alternate Dispute Resolution.
Ulan is actively involved in the corporate/commercial, company secretarial and energy practice groups of the firm. She provides compliance and corporate governance advisory services to several of the firm’s clients including companies and non-governmental organization. She regularly advises local and international clients on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious commercial issues including establishment and operation of businesses in Nigeria, oil and gas transactions, contract negotiations and data protection.
Ulan is result driven , diligent and smart. She has extensive experience in dealings with regulatory bodies and is thoroughly committed to ensuring that client’s expectations are met.
Prior to joining AO2Law, Ulan was an Associate at Mazars Nigeria where she specialized primarily in company secretarial, corporate governance, business advisory, insolvency, legal compliance, and Intellectual property.
Uwem also brings with him significant experience in advising clients in different industry sectors and jurisdictions on data protection issues, including on data protection compliance with relevant data protection laws in Africa as well as in Europe, including on the EU GDPR.
He has a demonstrated capacity to service clients across a wide range of sectors including but not limited to Financial Services, Telecommunications, Media and Broadcasting, FMCG, Hospitality, to meet their specific industry and transactional needs, including liaising with regulators.
Uwem also advices and represents clients at the tax appeal tribunals and Courts in Nigeria on tax disputes.
