KEY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE NIGERIA DATA PROTECTION ACT 2023

Introduction

The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA or the Act) was signed into law on June 12, 2023, thereby establishing a stronger legal framework for data protection in Nigeria. The Act aims to promote data processing practices that protect personal data and privacy, ensure fair and accountable data processing, and provide recourse for data subjects in cases of violations.
